On the 19^th of April, 1969, Major-General Yakubu Gowon who as at then was Nigeria’s Head of State got married to Miss Victoria Zakari at the Christ Church Cathedral, Lagos. It was a joyous and memorable day for Nigerians even though there was an ongoing war in the country. Below are some lovely photos from the state wedding.
