OldNaija Holds Free Historical Exhibition For Nigerian Students
The leading history and culture platform in Nigeria, OldNaija, held a historical photo exhibition for the students of Adekunle-Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State for free on the 7th of October, 2019.
The exhibition was held at the Department of Mass Communication, AAUA, where over 500 historical photos and some artefacts were on display. According to the founder of OldNaija, the aim of the exhibition is to teach Nigerian history in a non-boring way and so it featured rally, games and quiz, old school songs, red carpet session and lots more.
In an interview with Teslim Opemipo Omipidan, founder of OldNaija, he said,
“this is OldNaija’s maiden exhibition and we are glad it is a memorable one. We say a big thanks to our partner, National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) and our sponsors, Dr Aweni Adams, Mr Rafiu Onalaja and Sa’eed Omipidan of Nadratan Designs Inc.”
He further said,
“the knowledge of history is fast depleting in our society and if it continues like that, there will not be a single Nigerian youth who will know when Nigeria became a republic.”
He also made it known that the historical exhibition will be taken to other universities in Nigeria because the mission of OldNaija is to teach all Nigerians the history of their country.
