Picture of Emmanuel Ifeajuna breaking the British high jump record in Vancouver
Above is the picture of Emmanuel Ifeajuna breaking the British high jump record at 6 ft & 8 inch at the Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, Canada in the year 1954. He competed wearing only his left shoe and still won the jump. Ifeajuna became the first black African to win a gold medal. This earned him the nickname “Emma Vancouver“.
